Foaming agent type S/WA
S/WA type foam formers are fluorine-free extinguishing agents. They can be divided into WA and S types. Each of these types has its own characteristics.
Type WA or Wetting Agent — is translated as a wetting substance. This is a synthetic hydrocarbon-based foaming agent, which is used to extinguish fires as a wetting agent. It produces relatively little foam, but has high wetting properties. It is used for the combustion of solid materials (class A), namely coal, wood, peat, etc.
Type S is a hydrocarbon, fluorine-free, synthetic foaming agent. In turn, it can be:
- general purpose (extinguishing fibrous and solid materials, smoldering substances, flammable liquids, etc.);
- target (extinguishing mainly flammable liquids and petroleum products).
